P.O.N.T.

PONT is a charity that encourages partnership and friendship between people in Rhondda Cynon Taff and those in the Mbale district of Eastern Uganda. PONT stands for Partnerships Overseas Networking Trust, and started in Pontypridd from which it also derives its name and logo. Through PONT there are links between health professionals, teachers, engineers and churches from RCT and their counterparts in Mbale.

In 2007 a number of people from Llantrisant Parish, including 11 from the youth group, visited Mbale through PONT to build up links between our parish and churches in Mbale. Since then some of the group have returned to Mbale with engineering and teaching projects. The parish is linked with Sibembe Parish Church in the foothills of Mt Elgon near Mbale.
