Mothers' Union

The Mothers' Union is a worldwide organisation within the Anglican Community. Its aim is the advancement of the Christian religion in the sphere of marriage and family life.

The Mothers' Union in Llantrisant are at present about 30 members mainly from the three churches with a few Non-conformist among us. As long as you are baptised into the Christian faith then you may join (our membership fee is £10 a year payable in January).

We meet on the third Wednesday of each month between September and June at Llantrisant chuch hall at 7:30pm. Our program is varied to cover M.U.subjects. We regularly join with the other branches in the Deanery for services and fund raising.

If any one can help us to put together the history of the branch we would be very grateful. We do know that Rev E Davies closed the young wives and amalgamated the three churches, this is why there is a banner in St Davids. If there is anyone that can let us know how old the banners in St Davids and the original banner in Llantrisant are we would be very grateful. Our new banner, besides the altar in Llantrisant, was made for us a few years ago by Mrs Wendy Kilbride of Abergaveny. It was designed to represent the three churches.
